About the Workshop:
In this 3-hour session, you will explore and learn professional watercolor techniques, including wet-on-wet, dry-on-dry, and use the highest quality painting materials available on the market.
Throughout the session, we'll guide you in recreating a painting, ensuring you grasp each step from sketching to inking, and ultimately to applying watercolor. We provide four landscape watercolor painting samples, allowing you to choose your preferred subject matter. Each sample focuses on specific techniques for practice.
In our workshop, we'll show you how to choose different watercolor tools from the art shop. This includes selecting suitable paper, mounting techniques, choosing pigments, and matching them with your brushes. We will also provide tips on using all the materials, so you don't need to prepare any tools in advance.
To ensure teaching quality, each workshop accommodates a maximum of six participants.
By the end, you will have acquired all the basic knowledge and skills in watercolor painting, enabling you to take home a landscape painting created by yourself.

In the workshop, we will provide five reference paintings, each focusing on different watercolor techniques.
You can choose one based on your interest for practice. Regarding these four reference paintings, you can scroll down to the bottom of this page to view more details provided by previous students

You will understand the basic techniques of watercolor painting and learn about the differences between all the watercolor materials.
If you enjoy creating art yourself, you can now start independently replicating some watercolor paintings video online. Of course, mastering these techniques will require more practice, but you have already gained a comprehensive understanding of all the foundational knowledge.
If you prefer an observational perspective, such as enjoying art exhibitions, you will now be able to roughly understand how a watercolor painting is completed when you see one.
-
We will provide all the painting materials, so you just need to come with nothing. The studio also offers optional framing materials. If needed, you can explore our online shop or consult with the teacher for purchasing.
Additionally, if you arrive early, the teacher might treat you to a cup of very amateurish coffee with some rather frightening latte art skills. Trust me, I mean it. 😄

Typically, the students who come to my studio have very little or no previous watercolor experience. Most of them are complete beginners.
The five paintings in this workshop are specifically designed for beginners, and they are set with a gradual level of difficulty. For example, if you find landscape painting too challenging or simply prefer smaller objects, we also have reference paintings for small objects. Our guidance in the classroom is very effective, so please trust in our teaching capabilities. Additionally, the choice of painting materials plays a crucial role, and I firmly believe that using high-quality watercolor pigments is key for beginners. Therefore, we use only the highest-grade watercolor pigments available in the market in our classes. Our primary supplier is Daniel Smith, and you can find a detailed list at the bottom of the page.
