Beginner’s Watercolour Supplies Buying Guide (Copy)

This guide is designed to do one thing: help you quickly figure out what you actually need as a beginner, so you don’t end up buying too much, buying the wrong things, or getting overwhelmed by endless brand options.

It’s the written version of what I demonstrate and explain in class. You can read it from top to bottom, or simply use it as a checklist before shopping.

I’ll also share some of my personal favourites and how I choose materials. That said, there are many great brands available—and the most expensive option isn’t always the best one for you. The right choice depends on your level, your painting habits, and your budget.

If you’re interested, you’re also welcome to browse my shop, where I sell a selection of exclusive watercolour brushes. My focus is simple: reliable quality, fair pricing, and tools you can keep using as you grow.

If you found this guide helpful, feel free to leave a comment. I’d love to know if it helps.
And if you have any questions, you’re very welcome to ask in the comments. I’ll do my best to reply.
